How to clean the case cover? As the number one killer of computers, dust has a serious impact on the service life of computers. Generally speaking, after the computer has been used for a period of time, there will definitely be a lot of dust in the case. Because the current computer case is mostly air-cooled for heat dissipation, when the computer is working, the fan will continuously inhale the external air, which is convenient for the heat dissipation of the internal components. In the process of air circulation, dust enters the inside of the case with the air and deposits around the fan.
After the dust enters the inside of the power supply box, it will continuously accumulate on the components and circuits of the power supply, affecting the normal rotation of the fan, producing strong noise, and even damaging the computer components when the heat dissipation is affected.
In this case, it is particularly important to regularly clean the dust from the fan. But for ordinary users, it would be a bit of a fuss and a waste of money to ask computer maintenance personnel or other professionals to clean up. Therefore, ordinary users should learn to clean the dust around the fan by themselves. So how should it be cleaned? Next, we will explain the cleaning process of fan dust in detail from the disassembly of the fan, the cleaning of the fan, the cleaning of the oil, and the cleaning of the heat sink.
First, prepare the gadget first
Before cleaning, we must buy some cleaning tools: a small soft brush, screwdriver, towel, alcohol, motor oil, knife, toothpicks, etc. Among them, brushes, screwdrivers, and oil are essential items.
Second, dismantling of the fan and dusting and oiling
Generally speaking, the fan of the power supply is the most difficult to clean because it is very troublesome to disassemble. Here we give you a detailed explanation of the disassembly and cleaning of the power supply fan. There are four screws on the power supply position on the back of the chassis. Unscrew it with a screwdriver. Carefully take the power supply out of the chassis (you should unplug the mainboard, hard disk, and optical and magnetic power cables before taking it off), and then connect the power supply to the power supply. Unscrew the four small screws at the back, take off the power supply housing, and then use a screwdriver to remove the power supply fan.
First, use a brush to deal with the dust on the fan blades. This step is relatively easy. In order to eliminate the noise, we also need to add lubricating oil to the roller part of the fan. Use a screwdriver to carefully peel off the sticker on the back of the fan to reveal the rubber plug.
Use a small screwdriver or toothpick to take out the rubber plug, and then you can see the bearing of the fan, then carefully drop a few drops of lubricating oil, put the rubber cover in place, and stick the sticker on the back to the original place.
Turn the fan manually to allow oil to penetrate the bearings. Finally, install the fan. After the computer runs for a few seconds, the lubricating oil is evenly distributed around the bearing, the noise is reduced, and the fan has a better cooling effect.
Three, clean up the heat sink and summary
Because the heat sink is denser, it is more difficult to clean up. We first use a rag or brush to clean the large area of dust on the surface of the heat sink, and then soak the heat sink in alcohol. This softens the lumps of dust stuck in the gaps of the heat sink, making it easier to clean up. Use a knife to split a cotton swab or toothpick, and use it to insert it into the heat sink to clean up the dust. Carefully clean each heat sink.
Afterwards, rinse the heat sink in alcohol again to ensure that no dirt remains in the heat sink. Due to the deep gap of the heat sink, alcohol is not easy to air dry, so it is best to dry the heat sink in front of the fan, and then install it.
