The common materials for computer case shells include metal, plastic, acrylic and fiberglass, etc. The following is an introduction to their characteristics:
Metal material
Steel plate
Galvanized steel sheets: including hot-dip galvanized (SGCC) and electroplated galvanized (SECC). SGCC features acid resistance, rust prevention, corrosion resistance, long service life, light weight and other characteristics. Its surface is relatively bright and uniform in granular form. SECC has a better gloss, which is conducive to stamping. The galvanized layer is thick and uniform, less prone to rust and scratches. It has a strong adsorption capacity for electromagnetic radiation, especially low-frequency electromagnetic waves, and can effectively protect against electromagnetic radiation

Cold-rolled steel plate (SPCC) : It belongs to the common cold-rolled carbon steel thin plate and strip, with relatively high strength. However, its surface is rough and not aesthetically pleasing. Moreover, their surfaces are prone to scratches and they are vulnerable to contact with acidic liquids.

It has good mechanical strength and insulation performance, and is often used to make computer case shells. It can effectively prevent electromagnetic radiation and is relatively light in weight.
